I am a freelance journalist and communications professional based in London.

In autumn 2018 I covered the Quebec provincial election as the lead Montreal reporter for National Observer, an award-winning investigative publication in Canada focused on energy, environment and politics.

I contribute to a range of current affairs, arts and business publications in the UK, US and Canada, from Atlas Obscura and Medium’s curated membership section to the Montreal Review of Books and the New Statesman’s cities website, CityMetric. I am proud to be a regular contributor to independently-funded, public-service journalism outlets, including National Observer and Ricochet.

I hold British and Canadian citizenship and I speak French.

Career highlights include publicising the UK’s Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and the British Wildlife Photography Awards, managing and helping programme Sharjah International Book Fair, championing independent bookshops while working on the Booksellers’ Association of the UK’s ‘Books Are My Bag’ campaign and providing public relations consultancy to the inaugural JCB Prize for Literature, a pan-Indian book prize.

I am available for journalism, arts public relations consultancy, copy editing, content writing and podcast scripting. You can reach me on keating.cecilia[at]gmail.com.
